Hope everything went well. To be in charge of just a lab is different from one full of students. Yay, I remember our foolishness many years ago. A classmate caused a stampede by opening a flask of ether near an open bunsen burner. Thank God there was a power failure and only the emergency lights were on and all the windows were open letting a brisk monsoon breeze in (the airconditioners weren't running). Another misguided and mischievous fellow got bored waiting for the chemicals for his experiment (in Chem 13 Qualitative Analysis) helped himself with a pinch of this and that and a few drops of chemicals from other experiments and caused and explosion. It wasn't really an explosion as there wasn't a sound. He just claimed that the test tube he was filling with the chemicals started getting hot and bubbly and so he went straight to pour it down the sink but before he got there the bubbling became vigorous and after yelling a warning dropped the tube and ran. The students in the immediate vicinity got sprinkled with droplets and had chemical burns and holed shirts and pants. The student was expelled but before he left we tried to recreate his concoction but the poor fellow did not remember the names of the substances he collected from the other tables.
